Training and continuing education

We offer our employees a wide range of educational opportunities. That includes management development and project management, specialist courses and entire training programmes, either digitally or on site. We support learning in all its forms. The nature and extent of this support is determined on a case-by-case basis with the responsible manager.

Leadership

New managers undergo management training so they can adjust to our shared concept of leadership and ensure they are ready to face their day-to-day managerial challenges. Experienced managers can also take advantage of 360-degree feedback, webinars, coaching and many other opportunities for keeping their knowledge up-to-date and sharing their experiences and concerns with others.

Personal development

We support and challenge our staff, and our appraisals are particularly focused on the issue of individual development. Employees set personal development goals in regular dialogue with superiors. We firmly believe that it’s worth investing in our employees. This is the only way we can ensure a dynamic organisation which is active and innovative in shaping the future of energy.

Get involved

Together, we can go further. Our employees move mountains every day. They’re the heart of our company, our pioneers working to shape the future of energy. Innovative ideas fall on fertile ground. We have a wide range of ways for our employees to get involved.

ideas@work is an initiative launched by BKW Energy to drive innovation. In interdisciplinary teams, ideas become projects with support from internal mentors, to ensure they reach their full potential. The best ideas are put into practice and are eligible for awards from Group management.

Brownbag University is a platform created by BKW Power Grid where employees regularly attend stimulating talks on current issues relating to BKW and the energy sector. Internal and external speakers present current trends and welcome active discussion and all kinds of questions.

By employees, for employees. Anyone with exciting knowledge or skills to share is called upon to share them with their colleagues. This results in informative events on a wide range of topics – such as specialist presentations on working with Microsoft, courses on simple visualisation or talks on agility and design thinking.
