Information about BKW as an employer

BKW’s origins stretch back to 1898 and the construction of the Hagneck hydropower plant. Back then, BKW came up with a pioneering solution for transmitting electricity over longer distances. That meant it was producing electricity from renewable sources from the very beginning.
Today, the BKW Group employs more than 12,000 people across all companies, divided into three business areas which complement each other perfectly: energy, buildings and infrastructure.
We have more than 140 subsidiaries across ten countries, employing people of more than 96 different nationalities
