Information about BKW as an employer

  • BKW’s origins stretch back to 1898 and the construction of the Hagneck hydropower plant. Back then, BKW came up with a pioneering solution for transmitting electricity over longer distances. That meant it was producing electricity from renewable sources from the very beginning.
  • Today, the BKW Group employs more than 12,000 people across all companies, divided into three business areas which complement each other perfectly: energy, buildings and infrastructure.
  • We have more than 140 subsidiaries across ten countries, employing people of more than 96 different nationalities
